What is brow lamination? The brow lamination process involves straightening & lifting the hairs using a chemical solution, which allows the hairs to have more flexibility so that they can be moved into a desired shape. As such, this allows the covering of any gaps or stray areas. Once your natural brow hairs are straightened, a solution for fixing is applied in order to keep the hairs straight. A tint can be applied, if requested by the customer. A fuller-looking brow is a result, which stays in place when using a brush. The outcome of the procedure will last around five to six weeks and as usage of brow makeup and remover is increased, the sooner your results will finish. After six to eight weeks, your brow hairs will return to their normal shape and you will be ready for another treatment. What is the difference between brow lamination and traditional microblading? Brow lamination both straightens and lifts your natural hairs in order to achieve a full and feathered look, whereas traditional microblading involves using semi-permanent dye strokes to fill in your brows. Simply put, the main difference is that lamination does not require tattooing. Who should avoid brow lamination? It is not recommended for those who have burns, scratches or scars on the brows themselves. Or for those who have eye contamination, inflammation in the eyebrow areas, skin conditions or if you had an allergic reaction to hair chemicals in the past. For those who have sparse brow hair, the intended result may not yield with much effect due to lamination of brow hair. What is a typical brow lamination aftercare process? As with most procedures, the first 24 hours after your treatment are critical. It is very important to keep your brows completely dry (skip that workout and the extra hot shower) and to avoid touching them. That means avoiding using creams, oils and brow makeup on the area. After the first 24 hour period, you simply want to keep the area moisturized using creams or oils.
